Zirconia Dental Implants
A ceramic, tooth-coloured alternative to traditional titanium implants, placed with the same 3D planning and guided precision as every implant in our practice.

Meet your implant dentist
Dr. Mitchell has built his implant practice around conebeam 3D imaging, digital planning and guided surgery, and he places SDS zirconia implants for patients who want a metal-free option. Every zirconia case starts with the same question as every titanium case: what will give this patient the most predictable, natural result?
That means an honest conversation about both materials, a plan you can see on screen before treatment, and a surgical visit that follows that plan precisely.

Both are excellent ways to replace a missing tooth. Neither is universally better. The right choice depends on where the tooth is, the condition of your bone and gum tissue, and your own preferences.

Metal-free
Dr. Mitchell places both. If titanium is the better choice for your case, that is what he will recommend.
Who zirconia suits
These are the situations where Dr. Mitchell most often discusses zirconia. Your imaging decides the rest.
Some patients simply want no metal in the mouth. Zirconia offers a ceramic path to the same result: a fixed, natural-feeling tooth.
Where tissue is thin, the grey of a titanium implant can show through over time. A white ceramic implant stays invisible.
In the esthetic zone the colour of what sits beneath the gum matters, which is where tooth-coloured zirconia earns its place.
For patients with a history of metal sensitivity, a ceramic implant removes that question from the equation.
How it works
A cone-beam X-ray gives Dr. Mitchell a three-dimensional picture of your bone and surrounding teeth, and the conversation starts with whether zirconia or titanium suits you best.
The implant position is planned on screen before anything happens in the chair, so the surgical visit follows a blueprint rather than a guess.
A 3D-printed surgical guide keeps placement true to the plan. Where the case allows, the implant can be placed at the time of extraction.
Once the implant has integrated with the bone, a ceramic crown completes the tooth, matched to the shade of your natural teeth.
